Nerdi Gras Tournament Rules

General Rules (Applicable to All Tournaments)

● All games will be set to default settings unless otherwise stated in the Game-Specific Rules.

● In-game controller macros are allowed.

● Pausing the game at any time will result in the forfeiture of that round.

● Controllers will be provided. Players may bring their own controllers, provided they do not have turbo/macro functions and are approved by the tournament host before use.

● Players must report within 60 seconds of being called for their match. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

● Good sportsmanship is expected from all participants. Unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g. harassment, intentional disruption) may result in disqualification at the discretion of the host.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Rules

● Tournament Format: Double Elimination

● Match Settings:

  • Stocks: 3

  • Time Limit: 8 minutes

  • Items: Off

  • Stage Hazards: Off

● Additional Rules:

  • Legal Stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Pokémon Stadium 2, Smashville, Town & City.

    - Stage selection will follow the following format:

- Game 1: Players strike stages in a 1-2-1 order.

- Games 2+: Winner bans 2 stages, and the loser chooses from the remaining stages.

● Base Game: In the event of a “Challenger Approaching”, the winning player must SD and forfeit the match to the computer

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Rules

● Tournament Format: Double Elimination

● Match Settings:

  • Mode: Versus Mode

  • Speed: 150cc

  • Teams: None

  • Items: Frantic

  • CPU: Off

  • Vehicles: All allowed

  • Courses: Random

  • Races: 3 per match (Finals: 5 races)

Street Fighter 6 Rules

● Match Settings:

  • Tournament Format: Double Elimination

  • Rounds per Game: 2/3

  • Games per Set: 2/3 (Grand Finals: 3/5)

● Settings:

  • Pause menu must be set to long hold ON.

    Input delay reduction must be set to ON.

  • Stages: Random stage select unless both players agree on a specific stage.

  • Training Room is banned.

  • Control Restrictions: Dynamic control type is banned.

Tekken 8 Rules

● Match Settings:

  • Tournament Format: Double Elimination

  • Rounds per Game: 3/5

  • Games per Set: 2/3 (Grand Finals: 3/5)

  • Stage Selection: Random

● Customization Rules:

  • Customization of items, colors, or player names is prohibited. Failure to comply will result in a loss of the round.

FAQ & Additional Information

1. What should I do if my match is delayed?

If you experience delays due to technical or scheduling issues, immediately inform the tournament host to avoid disqualification.

2. What controllers are allowed?

Controllers provided by Nerdi Gras are standard for all games. If you bring your own controller, ensure it has no turbo or macro functions. Arcade sticks are allowed for Street Fighter and Tekken tournaments, pending approval by the host.

3. What happens in the event of a tie?

Ties are not applicable due to game design.

4. Can I use wireless controllers?

Wireless controllers are permitted but must be synced and un-synced before and after matches to avoid interference.
